China Glaze Eye Candy

So I was thinking about what to post next and I thought a review of the polishes that are in the giveaway would only be fitting.  The way this polish shimmers is amazing. They are like little treasure chests of gold, rubies, diamonds, sapphires, and rainbows. I had the hardest time getting the camera to focus on all of that glorious glitter. I think it was too much for my little camera to handle. No, not more shine, ahh, the sparkle is blinding me, can't...look...directly...at...it. (If you were wondering, that was my camera talking. I'm sorry, I have little kids and a big imagination.) All of these pictures had two coats of polish with almost perfect coverage and no top coat. If I were to do this as a complete manicure, I would probably use a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite to get rid of the rough texture.

Blonde Bombshell - Yellow-gold multi-sized glitter in a clear base.
Lorelei's Tiara - Silver and sapphire multi-sized glitter in a clear base.
Love Marilyn - Ruby red and silver multi-sized glitter in a clear base.
Some Like It Haute - Charcoal and holographic multi-sized glitter in a clear base.

Well, I have a feeling a certain child of mine, who shall remain nameless, dropped my camera. The reason I suspect this crime is because of the loud oops and loud crack audible from across the room, and the now fuzzy pictures I have to show you. I used the camera for several days after the incident without issue, and then last week, all of my pictures are fuzzy despite lighting and location changes. I could just be paranoid, but compared what I am used to seeing on my computer, I was quite frustrated trying to work with the pictures I got. Well damn! Guess I will have to give in and buy either a new camera or buy a macro lens for my camera body. Hmmm... I wonder if "dropping" polishes and "denting or scratching" bottles of nail polish would constitute an acceptable reason, for my husband, for me to buy more polishes. Mwahahaha. My evil plans are forming as we speak. Come here child of mine, Momma needs some new polishes. :)

Nail Mail

So, I am a little excited. This is the first time to buy polish not directly from some store. It was a nail "swap" that I had no polishes to swap so I purchased them from her. I got some GREAT colors from my fellow polish-aholic!! It is so much more personal when buying from fellow lovers of lacquer. She took the time to write me a card and give me a bonus polish that was a dupe of one that I was interested in. When is the last time a company did that for you? Thank you Marnie! You made my day.

Ulta Pinata-Yada-Yada (Bonus), A-England Lady of the Lake, A-England Tristam, and Ludruana Maravilhosa

Isn't this too cute. I really appreciated the time she took to do this!

Nfu Oh #61 In Stock!!!

Hello fellow holographic fans. I just wanted to let you know that the elusive silver holographic polish at Nfu Oh, #61, is in stock at one of our US stockists web site, Fabulous Street. If you click that link, it will direct you to the page to purchase it. This color does not stay in stock long so good luck. Don't forget, for these polishes to apply well you need a holographic base coat. Nfu Oh's base is called Aqua Base.

This is a picture from the Fabulous Street website seeing as I don't have a bottle of my own yet. But with this new stock, my very own bottle is on its way! :)

Nfu Oh #63 *Picture Heavy*

Yes, I know, ANOTHER holographic polish. All I have to say is ... Hi, my name is Kim, and I have a holographic problem. It has been less than one day since my last holographic polish wear. Unfortunately, I don't see this habit ever ending. My poor poor bank account!! Anyways, lets discuss the gem that is Nfu Oh 63. First, how to pronounce the company name. Phonetically spelled, it looks like Enfu Oh. I swear I was calling this polish all sorts of names before running across the pronunciation on the Fabulous Street website. This polish with no name, just the number 63, is a pink that leans toward the rosy/mauve side of the spectrum. I have learned an important application trick with the Nfu Oh holographic polishes, you have to use the sandwich method with the holographic base to get smooth, even application. Sandwiching is when you layer the base coat over subsequent layers of polish, making a "sandwich." I only needed two coats of polish, so this sandwich was base, polish, base and then polish. No topcoat! I used my holographic base from the Hologram Chic set by Jessica Cosmetics called Retro Revival. This application has been the bane of my existence since purchase. I don't think you understand, I have photographed this color 4 different times. Today was the first to look good to me. No ridges, bumps, bald spots, wrinkles, streaks, nada!! I was so relieved when I viewed the pictures in my computer. Now, knowing how to apply these correctly, I am excited to get my next holo from them. I am waiting on the blue #65. Yea!!!! Sorry, I did mention I had a problem right? Enjoy the pictures.

Isn't it holo-stunning!! This picture was taken outside.
Still pretty inside, but the fierceness of the holographic effect is noticeably dulled.
Back outside!
Crap! I need a tissue, I just drooled on my keyboard.
This is pretty close to the actual color of the polish.

Uhhhh, I'm back. I kind of went into a trance!
I just love the shape of these bottles. So sexy!
BTW, sorry for the sad clean up job. I was in a hurry to get outside since I was losing daylight, fast! This polish was purchased from the wonderful people at Fabulous Street.

Glitter Gal Lizard Belly *Use Caution While Operating Heavy Machinery!* Picture Heavy

Hello all. I have an oldie but goodie for you. I know, I know, practically everyone has  posted on the Glitter Gal Lizard Belly polish, but there is a good reason for it. It is BEAUTIFUL. In all the pictures I have ever seen of it, it is hard to show the true beauty of it. It almost always looks black in pictures, but I promise it is a beautiful hunter green color. The name of this polish reminds me of my pet iguana, Iggie, that I had as a child, God rest his soul. This polish has amazing coverage at two coats, and is a breeze to apply. The linear holographic effect is not affected at all by a top coat, or base coat for that matter. I promise if you get this, you will see why everyone loves it so much. Glitter Gal holographic polishes should come with a warning, "Use Caution While Operating Heavy Machinery!" I swear I start to loose focus at red lights, because I am too involved at looking at this beautiful rainbow!

Isn't it stunning!
This is one coat indoors. You see that it is hunter green.
Can you tell I had a hard time picking pictures.
 Drool!
Crap, I just swerved off the road.
I might need to increase my insurance coverage.
Gasp! What else is there to say about this little gorgeous piece of heaven!
Here is a quick indoor lighting pic. You will still get subtle flashes of holo indoors, but nothing like when you are outside!

I purchased this beauty from the wonderful Leah Ann at Larowe.
