I have had this growing collection of pictures that I haven't either had time to post, or forgotten about. So, I thought I will "purge" them so I can start fresh. Sound good? I will let you know the polish brand and name. If I remember anything else, I will add that info under the picture. TTFN!

NO H8!! Are You Going To Give Their Words Power Over You?

Eradicate Hate was created after continued bullying in the nail polish blogger community. I am in full agreement with their stance. Having a sense of humor and the ability to take constructive criticism is necessary to survival when putting out anything in a public forum. The line is crossed when people start making comments that are purely mean and hateful for no other reason than just the joy of hurting someone else. We have all been on both sides of bullying whether we want to admit it or not. What is important is when you realized you were hurtful: did you learn from it and correct it? If the answer is yes, awesome. It means you are human and prone to mistakes. If it is no, and you are looking at all of these bloggers post as an overreaction to a "club" or "funny post," then you are probably still not aware that anything you do is wrong and everyone else needs to "toughen up." Fortunately there are those of us that do it for the fun and joy of sharing something we are excited about. I do it because I love nails, color, art, beauty, photography, writing, and the sheer enjoyment of connecting with others that think like me.

Showing support, bloggers are posting purple manicures on November 8th to stand up against bullying. This is Nfu Oh 51 layered over Orly Stone Cold (2 coats) and Essie No Place Like Chrome (tiger print stamping). I used the Bundle Monster Stamping Plate BM-223. I think the 51 gave a cool "blurple" effect.

This excerpt was created at Eradicate Hate  in response to all of the cyber-bulling in the blogger community.
"Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay. Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. I am amazed, when reading others blogs how bulling has affected each one of us. We all have at least one story to tell and none of them are pretty. There will be no happy face at the end of the story. No, "that was a good memory" or fond reminiscing  Bullying stays with us. It "teaches" us not to like ourselves. I liken it to a virus. At first, it usually starts as a small comment, but then more negative comments come your way and it builds and builds with no foreseeable "cure," because there is no cure for a virus. The most important thing someone, who is being bullied, can do is talk about it. Silence gives the negativity power that will morph into self doubt and loathing, that can only lead down a very dark and lonely road. Negative people will always be in our lives bringing others down around them to their level. The important thing to consider is: Are you going to give their words power over you? NO!

My Favorite Things Nail Art Challenge Day 2: My Favorite Polish

Day 2 of the challenge by Ooh La La Polish asks what is your favorite polish. Do you realize how hard it is to pick one polish out of over 400?? That is like asking me which child do I love more? I really didn't want to hurt the others feelings, so please don't tell them. It is a secret. The polish that truly created an obsession was Nfu Oh 61. I saw a swatch online and instantly fell in love. I felt the same way when I started dating my husband. It is pure silver holographic nail porn!! I think it should be XXX rated with its awesomeness! Sorry, about that outburst. My husband is currently looking over my shoulder saying, "I can't believe you are writing that." I have myself under control now. This notorious polish is a bit of a pain in the a$$ to apply. You have to have either their Aqua Base for smooth application, or some other brand of holographic base coat for it to apply well. That being said, it is a breeze to apply with the Aqua Base. I do a sandwich method of application with one coat of base, then a coat of 61, then another coat of base, and then a final coat of 61. You can do one more "lasagna layer" if you want, but you don't have to. This method helps make your holo-cure last longer. Even with this method, I get only 2-3 days of wear out of it. I do not wear a topcoat with Nfu Ohs holographic polish because it will dull, if not eliminate, the holographic effect. There are some people out there who might have found the golden ticket of top coat that won't ruin it, but I haven't found it yet. Wow, this turned into a long rant. Well enjoy the pictures! Nfu Oh #63 *Picture Heavy*

Yes, I know, ANOTHER holographic polish. All I have to say is ... Hi, my name is Kim, and I have a holographic problem. It has been less than one day since my last holographic polish wear. Unfortunately, I don't see this habit ever ending. My poor poor bank account!! Anyways, lets discuss the gem that is Nfu Oh 63. First, how to pronounce the company name. Phonetically spelled, it looks like Enfu Oh. I swear I was calling this polish all sorts of names before running across the pronunciation on the Fabulous Street website. This polish with no name, just the number 63, is a pink that leans toward the rosy/mauve side of the spectrum. I have learned an important application trick with the Nfu Oh holographic polishes, you have to use the sandwich method with the holographic base to get smooth, even application. Sandwiching is when you layer the base coat over subsequent layers of polish, making a "sandwich." I only needed two coats of polish, so this sandwich was base, polish, base and then polish. No topcoat! I used my holographic base from the Hologram Chic set by Jessica Cosmetics called Retro Revival. This application has been the bane of my existence since purchase. I don't think you understand, I have photographed this color 4 different times. Today was the first to look good to me. No ridges, bumps, bald spots, wrinkles, streaks, nada!! I was so relieved when I viewed the pictures in my computer. Now, knowing how to apply these correctly, I am excited to get my next holo from them. I am waiting on the blue #65. Yea!!!! Sorry, I did mention I had a problem right? Enjoy the pictures.

Nail Mail

Nail Mail!! So after my birthday, I went and splurged on some items I have been wanting to try. I am so excited to say they have already started coming in!! Unfortunately some major lemmings that I wanted are still unattainable for now but I am working on my dusty hunt. In this first round of deliveries I received Konad plates and french manicure kit, Rescue Beauty Lounge "Scrangie", Nfu-Oh 40 & 63, and the 21 piece Bundle Monster nail art bundle! I think that is a pretty awesome haul if you ask me. Now to decide which ones to try first.
